As the section manager for customer relations in the connection process at Svenska kraftnät, you will lead a growing operation with a central role in electrification. With clear communication, trust-building dialogue, and a good understanding of regulations, you will enable efficient and long-term sustainable connections to the power grid.
About the position
We are looking for a manager for the newly established section Customer Relations Connection, responsible for the area of connection to the transmission network in a critical societal operation. You will lead and develop relationships with stakeholders who are, or wish to be, connected to the transmission network and ensure that their needs are managed in line with Svenska kraftnät's important societal mission. The assignment mainly includes the connection process, from early dialogue to allocation of capacity, and is characterized by strategic and operational responsibility with a focus on leadership, development, and communication.
The section is part of the department for Power System Development, which is responsible for the development, sizing, and network planning of the power system and consists of approximately 180 employees. The section includes two units with about 6–8 employees each. As section manager, you are responsible for the entire section and also lead the Customer Connection unit. The other unit, Development of the connection process, is led by a unit manager who reports to you. The section is growing, and you are responsible for personnel, working environment, budget, strategy, and business development.
Your main tasks:
- Strategic and operational work within the section's and department's area of responsibility.
- Design and develop the section's working methods, including staffing and competence supply.
- Structure and further develop internal and external processes related to connection.
- Establish and develop key contact points and contribute to increased knowledge among internal and external stakeholders.
- Be part of the management team for the Power System Development department.
About you
Required qualifications:
We are looking for someone who leads confidently in change, makes well-balanced decisions in complex contexts, and drives the operation forward with a focus on results and quality. You create structure, provide guidance, and follow up on responsibilities in implementation. Your communication skills allow you to convey goals, expectations, and choices clearly and in a trust-building manner, as well as build long-term collaborations both internally and externally. To succeed in the assignment, the ability to see the big picture, balance different interests, and ensure that the operation develops in line with the mission, regulations, and the expectations of the external environment is required.
We place great importance on your personal qualities.
Furthermore, you have a higher education degree with relevant orientation (e.g., electrical engineering, technical physics, industrial economics, energy systems) or equivalent competence acquired through education or work, which Svenska kraftnät assesses as equivalent. You also have:
- At least five years of leadership experience (e.g., as a manager, senior project manager, or equivalent), of which at least three years with personnel responsibility.
- Experience as a manager responsible for other managers and their teams.
- Experience in strategic stakeholder or customer dialogue and development work in complex environments.
- Knowledge of the functioning of the power system and the electricity market.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have:
- International experience in strategic stakeholder or customer dialogue and development work.
- Experience in building and developing a new organization.
- Experience in leading technical experts.
- Knowledge of regulations and legal frameworks for electricity network operations.
- Experience in the public sector or other community-supporting operations.
Good to know
- The position is located in Stockholm/Sundbyberg.
- Possibility of remote work up to 50% #LI-hybrid
- Travel may occur. Usually about once a month but can vary based on needs.
